Samhathi-Jnanpeet, the Students Home, was jointly inaugurated on 02 October by Kerala State Minister Sri. G Sudhakaran and Dr.Gerlinde Paschinger, Deputy Head of Missions of Austrian Embassy in India at a grand ceremony held on the Samhathi-India campus. The 10th Anniversary of Jnanpeet was celebrated on 12 November 2016 through a day-long functions and a final gathering of all concerned. So far 229 students benefited from Jnanpeet and of that 42 have either completed professional degrees or are on the way to complete and reach rewarding careers. The careers they have reached include medical doctors, medical nurses, nurse in armed forces, civil, IT and Computer Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, teaching, management etc.
Ever since its beginning in 2006 Jnanpeet has been under the care and patronage of Samhathi-Austria and Samhathi-Germany. The Austrian Development Agency of the Republic of Austria extended financial support to construct and furnish the Jnanpeet building while Samhathi teams in Austria and Germany worked hard to find sponsors for each of the Jnanpeet children and never failed in this mission spreading over 10 years already. The strenuous efforts of teams under the leadership of Ms.Gerda Madl and Ms.Elfriede Siegert in Austria and Mr.Elmar Weber, Ms.Katharina Pfaffel and others in Germany made it possible to provide the children with quality education and standard facilities for their growth in academic as well as personal levels. The big number of sponsors from Europe deserves all our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for their big role in helping these poor children reach high careers and lives. Samahthi-India Team along with all the students of Jnanpeet express our most sincere gratitude to Ms.Gerda Madl, Ms.Elfriede Siegert, Mr.Elmar Weber, Ms.Katharina Pfaffel and all other team members at Samhathi-Austria and Germany for their praiseworthy roles in making Jnanpeet what it is today – a model institution for the entire target population of Samhathi-india.
