Aim: Regenerate the local environment through community based collective movement.

• Convert barren land, which often becomes breeding groups of rats, snakes, mosquito’s, tray dogs etc, into cultivate land. During the last three years alone move than 400 hectares of barren land has become cultivatable land in the area.
• Massive refforestation activities are going in since 2006. More than 0.3 million plants have been distributed in the area both by Samhathi and other collaborating entities.
• More than 4700 mangroves, 32000 casuarinas, 9400 coconut saplings and 8000 herbal plants were distributed as part of the efforts to regenerate as well as to protect the local environment.
• More than 1200 awareness building sessions were organized for general public as well as for selected categories like SHG’S Women.
• More than 300 biogas plants were set up to set model to promote bio-friendly energy sources in the area
• About 460 rain water harvesting units were constructed to solve the long-standing problem of shortage of potable drinking water in the area.
